On episode 22 of the Cycles and Sanctity Podcast, we hear from Megan Gephart about her breastfeeding journey, including pumping while on a field training course and in all kinds of far-from-ideal environments.
Megan is a Catholic mother of two boys, an active-duty army officer, a life coach, a pre and postnatal fitness coach, and an advocate for mothers and families in the military. She's a West Point graduate, currently serving in the military in a public relations and strategic communications role.
Though we discuss the breastfeeding challenges involved in the military, we know that this is a challenge for any woman that is working outside of the home and doing the work that she is being called to do. Megan touches on the spiritual dimension of breastfeeding in her parting thoughts, so be sure to listen to the end.

This week is World Breastfeeding Week and in the US we celebrate Breastfeeding for the whole month of August. So we begin our series on Breastfeeding with an interview with Gina Peterson, IBCLC, and Executive Director of Catholic Nursing Mothers League.

Welcome to episode 16 of the Cycles & Sanctity podcast, where we are talking about the encyclical Humanae Vitae by Pope Paul VI, a little bit of church history, and a little bit about world history.
We dive into the history and societal movement of contraception and Christian Churches. We also look at the Second Vatican Council that Pope John XXIII began, and Pope Paul VI continued. I mention the book Love & Responsibility that Cardinal Carol Wojtyla (St. Pope John Paul II) wrote in 1960, among others.
